I love checking out the backstage scene at Fashion Week and spotting natural beauty among the beauty & fashion industry trend-setters. This year I found that (effortlessly cool, beautiful, and all-around amazing) celeb makeup artist Gucci Westman has been stocking natural and biodynamic beauty pioneer Dr. Hauschka backstage at some of her shows, to keep models' skin glowing.
If you sneaked a peek at the backstage beauty stash at Rag & Bone in NYC or Antonio Berardi in London, you'd find Westman's arsenal of Dr. Hauschka's soothing Moisturizing Mask, toning Quince Day Cream, Lip Balm and refining Regenerating Serum (also a Martha Stewart fave). It's easy to overlook skin care when there is so much head-turning makeup around, but soothing, moisture-rich products like these are what keep models' skin happy during these exhausting days of layer upon layer of makeup.
Now, Gucci is currently Creative Director for Revlon, a brand that could definitely use to amp up its ingredient consciousness. Perhaps she can offer a little green beauty advice to the higher-ups? From what I've heard (check out this awesome Into The Gloss profile), Gucci's also a huge fan of Eminence, and a user of Tammy Fender— two fab natural beauty brands!
Proof that green and glam can coexist beautifully— backstage and in your beauty cabinet...
